Overview of the Role
ParkMobile is looking for an Engineering Director to join our team and lead the API services for our industry-leading parking and mobility platform. We currently serve millions of users through our backend services and our APIs, and we are continuing to grow at a rapid pace. If you are passionate about high volume systems and microservice architecture, this role is for you. As an Engineering Director, you will be part of our leadership team and will help ParkMobile develop and maintain a progressive technical roadmap that maximizes our reach and impact for the business.
What You’ll Do
Lead the design and execution of ParkMobile’s API strategy as a platform
Build, scale, and optimize microservices and new technologies that serve millions of users
Take ownership of ParkMobile’s service layer roadmap and work collaboratively with our leadership team to align the company’s strategic goals and initiatives
Ensure engineering best practices and oversee software development lifecycles to deliver high-quality products to our internal and external stakeholders
Mentor, coach, and grow the careers of your direct reports
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team with a focus on growth and engineering excellence
Maintain close relationships with other engineering directors and leadership to design and build cohesive systems across our suite of applications
Who You Are
8+ years’ experience in software design & development
Experience in management and leading leaders or others in management-related roles
Experience defining and implementing API solutions with microservice architecture that serve both front end and back end applications
Successful track record of managing multiple cross-functional development teams and managing competing priorities
Experience hiring, mentoring and coaching top engineering talent
Wide and lateral communication skills with the ability to demonstrate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Passionate about transformational leadership and bottom-up culture and is invested in developing both great engineers and great teams
Experience with Go and AWS at scale are a plus but are not required
