Job Summary

This full time permanent position is for our Indianapolis office. As a member of the Hardware team, this position will research and evaluate the feasibility of new technologies and provide direction on new products.


  • Select and source electrical components (sensors, readers, printers, power supplies, converters/inverters, PCBA, etc.);
  • Build engineering prototypes, validate designs and develop corrections to meet electrical system requirements;
  • Manage technical aspects of projects by monitoring and managing project scope, plan and cost in order to achieve successful project completion;
  • Provide strong technical leadership to resolve complex technical challenges;
  • Perform unit validation testing as well as PCB and system level verification and validation testing to meet electrical specifications and regulatory compliance;
  • Perform design revisions and updates on new and existing products and assists in transferring designs to manufacturing;
  • Use a bill of material management system to set up new and maintaining existing part numbers;
  • Document activities in accordance with best engineering practices, company procedures, and regulatory requirements;
  • Provide cost reduction ideas and constructive feedback for continual improvement of the product.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • 2+ years of electrical engineering experience;
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills;
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer, SolidWorks, and firmware development is desired;
  • Experience with PCBA prototyping, design tools, design and verification within national regulatory and product safety and environmental standards;
  • Experience with UL certification and knowledge of EMI/EMC and other regulatory requirements is desired;
  • Proven ability to lead projects; work well as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
