Job Summary

This position is the Product Strategist for T2’s parking and transportation offerings focused on permits and enforcement. As Product Strategist, you will identify new opportunities, assess the company’s product performance, and help develop long-term strategic plans for future product lines. The product strategist takes a broader view, using research and analysis to guide the company’s overall product plans. You will be responsible for research both T2’s performance and the competitive landscape to find unserved needs and market opportunities. Rather than focusing on specific products a market is missing, you are charged with finding market problems that need solving, or list for common complaints from our target market.

We will look to you to set the vision, particularly focused on insights and experiences based on research and synthesis of various data inputs. You will then evangelize this vision, the multi-year roadmap, and the strategic plan internally and externally, including giving updates to customers, prospects, and partners.

You will work closely with our Product Management team to operationalize the vision and act as the product spokesperson supporting Sales and Marketing through effective positioning, deal advice, and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Product Strategist for the T2 parking and transportation solutions crafting the overall solution vision, business case, setting pricing, and executing with Product Marketing
  • Develop a rich understanding of T2’s products and the parking industry
  • Create the vision and three-to-five-year roadmap
  • Understand our customers’ business problems and create innovative solutions for those problems
  • Work with customers and sales to understand future initiatives of our customers and how our product can address them
  • Attend T2’s annual user group and other trade shows
  • Work with Product Management to evaluate and prioritize requests for product enhancements based on commercial viability
  • Apply lessons learned from win/loss analysis to incorporate this feedback into the product roadmap.
  • Identify product strengths and weaknesses relative to our competition and work with sales and marketing to create product positioning, launch efforts and collateral
  • Understand product revenue, costs, and gross margin attributable to the product line and manage this with guidance from leadership
  • Represent the company as a thought-leader in the parking industry
  • Approximately 20% business travel

Education and Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in software Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analyst or like functions
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Familiarity with the Pragmatic Institute approach to Product Strategy, Management, and Marketing is desirable
  • Experience in releasing “end-to-end” solutions with end-customer interaction in an enterprise deployment
  • Ability to create core messaging for a product line, including positioning and differentiation, to maximize return
  • Highly refined interpersonal skills and high technical and non-technical professionalism
  • Ability to work without supervision and collaborate with peers and management
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships at all levels in the company and with customers
  • Demonstrated comfort and ease talking to customers and working with executives.
  • Agile/Scrum true believer
