Quality Assurance Specialist (Indianapolis, US)

Job Summary

T2 Systems (T2) is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist with an ability to take on leadership responsibilities and influence the direction and successes of the QA testing effort, and its schedule, and prioritization. The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the testing and deployment of the company’s Pay Station terminals, software, and multitenant web solution as well as associated enterprise service offerings (SaaS).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of Agile Development/Testing Life Cycle by providing leadership and guidance.
  • Collaborate with team and management, as well as mentor and support associate/junior level team members.
  • Review product requirements, design specifications, and acceptance criteria to build an automation and/or manual testing strategy providing long-term product coverage.
  • Recommend Quality Assurance best practices and help define and champion Quality Assurance standards.
  • Work with team to provide accurate estimates for all testing efforts.
  • Have end-to-end ownership of quality features.
  • Assist in determining root cause analysis of failed tests and ensure their reliability.

Education and Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 - 5 years' industry experience in QA or Software Engineering.
  • QA Designation from accredited organization is an asset.
  • Strong foundation in quality assurance methodologies, procedures and testing best practices
  • Comfortable engaging cross-functional teams including development, system architects, product management, and customer support.
  • Strong knowledge of defect tracking systems such as Jira, Bugzilla or similar
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience rolling out and managing test suites/test plans
  • Experience and solid understanding of how to conduct manual testing
  • Proven ability to create and maintain tools to improve testing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to constantly be learning and contribute to QA Best Practices.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Knowledge of Test case tool like Zephyr for Jira would be an asset
  • Proficient with Linux-based systems an asset.
  • Experienced in Embedded systems an asset
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM an asset.
  • Some hardware testing an asset.
  • Experience & knowledge with automation an asset.
