Job Summary

The Shipper will be responsible for managing all outbound shipments promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Shipping, picking orders, packing, landing & unloading merchandise;
  • Verifying and monitoring incoming shipments from suppliers and outbound shipments to customers;
  • Liaising with freight forwarders, customs brokers, couriers, trucking companies, customers, and internal departments;
  • Obtaining quotes, preparing, packing, scheduling orders for shipment;
  • Communicating Shipped articles and maintaining logs and timely processing;
  • Processing parts orders in courier, small packaging systems;
  • Ordering supplies proactively and when/as required;
  • General maintenance & housekeeping of warehouse to ensure a safe & orderly environment;
  • Maintaining a shared dock, and working together with departments;
  • Assisting other Departments as needed.

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Shipping (import/export) experience;
  • Minimum Grade 12 education with solid English verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficient in MS Office skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel) and basic math skills;
  • Positive and collaborative attitude;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, carry & work physically for an extended period;
  • Knowledge of US and Canadian customs regulations, including HS classifications;
  • Experience with international and domestic shipping via courier, LTL, FTL, and Air Freight;
  • Experience preparing customs and other government agencies documentation (ie. commercial invoices, NAFTA certificate of origin, FCC, FDA);
  • Experience using DHL Easyship and FedEx Ship manager, Pro Ship, Trilogix systems is an asset;
  • Manufacturing experience, 6S environment, Lean knowledge, and other related experience is an asset.
