The Shipper will be responsible for managing all outbound shipments promptly.
Verifying and monitoring incoming shipments from suppliers and outbound shipments to customers;
Liaising with freight forwarders, customs brokers, couriers, trucking companies, customers, and internal departments;
Obtaining quotes, preparing, packing, scheduling orders for shipment;
Communicating Shipped articles and maintaining logs and timely processing;
Processing parts orders in courier, small packaging systems;
Ordering supplies proactively and when/as required;
General maintenance & housekeeping of warehouse to ensure a safe & orderly environment;
Maintaining a shared dock, and working together with departments;
Assisting other Departments as needed.
Education and Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of Shipping (import/export) experience;
Minimum Grade 12 education with solid English verbal and written communication skills;
Proficient in MS Office skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel) and basic math skills;
Positive and collaborative attitude;
High attention to detail;
Ability to stand, bend, lift, carry & work physically for an extended period;
Knowledge of US and Canadian customs regulations, including HS classifications;
Experience with international and domestic shipping via courier, LTL, FTL, and Air Freight;
Experience preparing customs and other government agencies documentation (ie. commercial invoices, NAFTA certificate of origin, FCC, FDA);
Experience using DHL Easyship and FedEx Ship manager, Pro Ship, Trilogix systems is an asset;
Manufacturing experience, 6S environment, Lean knowledge, and other related experience is an asset.
