Transportation Operations Manager (Sunnyville, US)

The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for owning all facets of the daily parking operation and providing oversight of shuttle operations. He/she will work closely with the transportation team, reporting to the Transportation Program Manager, to effectively manage parking supply and demand and play a strategic role in the growth of the shuttle program. This person must be self-motivated, seasoned parking professional, team player and problem-solver that will bring excellent customer service skills and recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices.

The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for owning all facets of the daily parking operation and providing oversight of shuttle operations. He/she will work closely with the transportation team, reporting to the Transportation Program Manager, to effectively manage parking supply and demand and play a strategic role in the growth of the shuttle program. This person must be self-motivated, seasoned parking professional, team player and problem-solver that will bring excellent customer service skills and recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

Vendor management position with a primary focus on valet parking and EV charging operations and infrastructure, and a secondary focus on shuttle operations
Parking Operations

  • Develop plans and coordinate with various teams to mitigate construction impacts on parking
  • Review requests from the Events teams, work to mitigate parking impacts, oversee parking operations during special events.
  • Work with consultants to manage the parking data collection and analysis of program metrics
  • Build efficiency into existing operations and help define new operational strategies, recommend technologies
  • Forecast parking capacity and demand, including EV charging, and assess and coordinate resources to support the operation.
  • Assist in-field operations/data collection as required.
  • Ensure that parking policies and procedures meet expectations and established standards
  • Ensures compliance with applicable policy and law.
  • Collaborates with Security team to ensure parking regulations are adhered to at all times and are equally enforced.
  • Collaborates with Security team to determine areas and times of priority enforcement.
  • Develops and recommends operational policies and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness of citation and permit program.
  • Oversee implementation and administration of permit programs
  • Analyze appeals to determine if policies and signage are appropriate or need modification.
  • Meets with parking-related employee stakeholder groups, such as the EV council
  • Respond to and resolve any employee or visitor complaints, vehicle claims and service discrepancies.

Shuttle Operations

  • Proactively identify areas of concern with shuttle operations and develop strategies to resolve issues before they arise
  • Analyze and interpret ridership numbers and suggest route/schedule changes accordingly

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in operating corporate, commercial or university parking and shuttle programs
  • Working knowledge of Tripshot
  • Experience with various electronic parking and operations technologies including parking-specific software programs.
  • Parking credentials through the International Parking Institute (IPI) or National Parking Association (NPA).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in a related field

  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to effectively resolve difficult situations calmly and courteously.
  • Capable of handling employee conflict, following grievance procedures, mediating and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to develop and present recommendations for the improvement of established processes and practices; imitate and implements plans to solve problems, improve quality and services.
  • Ability to develop resources that creates a timely and efficient workflow and maximize productivity
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and to create policies.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to perform multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work well with a team in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to seek improvement and create an environment of idea sharing and creative problem-solving.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and be highly proficient in Excel, Outlook, Adobe products.
