PIPS Technology strengthens relationship with Ranger Services

PIPS Technology, the world leader in ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology has once again been chosen by Ranger Services to supply their P362 ANPR cameras and Autoplate software for an installation in over 350 locations.
pips camera.jpgPIPS ANPR technology has been chosen by Ranger to be installed in a number of supermarket car parks and motorway service stations. Supermarket car parks are notoriously difficult to monitor, as well as being a target for criminal activity once the supermarket is closed.

Barrier controlled systems can lead to long queues and delays on entrances and exits of car parks, which in turn deters customers from visiting. Parking attendants arent always able to effectively monitor the large scale car parks and sometimes genuine customers cannot find a parking space. Petrol drive offs cost supermarkets and motorway service stations thousands of pounds in lost revenue every year.

Because PIPS ANPR cameras are able to read the number plates of every vehicle as they enter and exit car parks, adding a date and a time stamp, it is possible to calculate how long each vehicle has spent visiting the supermarket. The owners of any vehicles which havent honoured the Length of Stay policy are sent Parking Charge Notices (PCN) by Ranger. PIPS cameras eliminate the need for any barrier entry systems, or ticket validation systems. This, in turn, vastly reduces queuing times on entry and exit of the car park.

PIPS ANPR systems also allow genuine customers to find parking spaces more easily by stopping people from using the car park for other purposes, such as while they are at work for long periods of time.

The theft of petrol is an increasing problem, for supermarkets and motorway service stations alike. One of the most effective ways of managing this problem is through the use of ANPR. PIPS ANPR cameras are able to capture the registration details of any vehicles that drive off without paying for their petrol, which can then be passed to the police. The police can use the DVLA database to identify the owner of the vehicle and take the appropriate action.

Ranger Services have been chosen by leading supermarket chains, as well as motorway service stations, to install ANPR technology due to their proven track record in delivering innovative technology solutions. Ranger Services has a long standing relationship with PIPS Technology and since 2003 they have manufactured and installed over 5.56 million of ANPR equipment nationwide.

Paul Negus, Managing Director of PIPS Technology said PIPS enjoy a very close relationship with Ranger, and it is one that I hope will continue long into the future. Ranger is a great company to work with, and the quality of their installations allows our cameras to work to the best of their ability.

PIPS cameras and software are chosen by Ranger Services time and time again because of their high standards in quality and design. Ranger has a reputation of being one of the best in the business and PIPS cameras and software help them to maintain this reputation.

Mendy Sudak, Director at Ranger Services, says of PIPS Technology We have been using PIPS cameras for a number of years now and we have always found them to be reliable in both quality standards and capture rates. PIPS staff are friendly and always willing to help.
