Designing to welcome electric cars to Boston

Mid- September ADD Inc has started designing the city's first electric vehicle charge station and parking lot for Dinosaur Capital Partners, a Boston-based development and investment group.
Located in the Bullfinch Triangle, Green Park & Charge will transform a vacant 1928 gas station into a 4,000 SF eco-friendly facility.  Green features will include solar-powered LED lighting and a kiosk constructed from recycled shipping containers to house bike racks, an ATM, and a station manager's office. Pricing policies to encourage green driving alternatives will offer discounted parking fees to owners of electrical vehicles.

"The electric cars are coming," said Scott Oran, a founding partner of Dinosaur Capital, in a recent interview with the Boston Herald. "We tried to figure out what the best use for this site would be. We came up with what we thought was the best plan." Dinosaur Capital Partners anticipates construction to begin in early 2011.
