Downtown South Bend, Inc. (DTSB) to Manage Downtown Parking Program in South Bend, Indiana s

Downtown South Bend, Inc. (DTSB) has replaced Ampco Parking Systems as the manager of the downtown South Bend parking program.  This includes operation and maintenance of three city-owned parking garages (Main/Colfax, Leighton, and St. Joseph/Wayne) as well as enforcement of on-street parking in the central business district.
DTSB was awarded the opportunity to manage the garages through a competitive RFP process conducted by the City of South Bends Redevelopment Commission.  DTSBs competitive proposal offers street-level solutions to the general concerns and widespread misconceptions among visitors and stakeholders.  A highlight of the proposal is the Downtown South Bend Parking Promise: An unorthodox parking program that is guaranteed to be safe, clean, hospitable and professional with a commitment to investing in the advancement of downtown South Bend.  Aaron Perri, Executive Director of DTSB, says, This is a parking program that engages its stakeholders, exceeds the expectations of its users and reinvests in its surroundings.  The Downtown South Bend Parking Promise is designed to be more than a logo, a tag line, or a flash-in-the-pan promotion.  Its a guarantee that will encompass DTSBs commitment to delivering an unconventional and highly functional parking program.

DTSB will expand upon its already established and successful Ambassador program to deliver a fresh personality and level of service unprecedented in the downtown parking program.  Perri believes that DTSBs commitment to improve the parking experience in downtown is part of a greater picture. Our approach to managing the downtown parking program is extraordinary and a little unconventional, said Perri. It is this spirit that opens the way to creative approaches and innovative actions which puts us on the path to South Bends best days.

Some of DTSBs plans include delivering utmost standards in garage cleanliness and maintenance, staffing the parking garages 24 hours per day/7 days per week, providing motor vehicle assists and safety escorts, enhancing informational signage and garage functionality, creating consistent avenues for communicating with customers and gaining valuable feedback, celebrating Parker Appreciation Days, introducing a more hospitable approach to parking enforcement, and forming a downtown parking committee comprised of various stakeholders.  In addition, DTSB has developed a new website to highlight parking in downtown www. dtsbParking. com
