Mary McNally appointed Springfield Parking Authority board of directors chair

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno has announced the appointment of a local lawyer, Mary E. McNally, to chair the Springfield Parking Authoritys board of directors. 
McNally succeeds former board chairman, Demetrios N. Panteleakis, who resigned effective Nov. 30.

McNally, a past member of the citys Police Commission, owns her own law firm and was the founding partner of McNally Mediation Services. She is a graduate of Western New England College School of Law and Elms College.

McNally has served on a number of boards and commissions including the Hampden County Bar Association, Brightside for Families & Children Board of Trustees, Springfield Technical Community College Board of Trustees, and the Childrens Law Project Board of Directors. She has also has served as a Springfield School Volunteer.

The Parking Authority is a political subdivision of the state. Its primary responsibility is for the development and management of off-street parking in support of economic development activities in downtown Springfield.

The authority is also charged with the maintenance of all on-street parking equipment, monitoring all on-street parking usage, citation issuance and collection, and parking studies to better serve city.

The authority plays a vital role to downtowns continued economic development and I am confident that Attorney McNally will continue to carry on the boards commitment to downtowns continued revitalization, Sarno said in a prepared release.

Sarno thanked Panteleakis for his service.

Panteleakis, in his letter of resignation last month, said his decision was driven by the demands of my professional, as well as personal and family, commitments.
