Shade Systems Awarded Contract to Shade Entire Airport Parking Lot
Shade Systems is proud to announce it has been contracted to design, manufacture, and install the parking lot shade covers for the brand new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport near Panama City in the Florida panhandle.
The St. Joe Company, a publicly traded company engaged in land development with approximately 580,000 acres in northwest Florida, is the owner of the land for the airport, which will serve such major carriers as Southwest and Delta Airlines. HWA Parking, a planning and design firm with offices in Austin and Houston, was responsible for the design and development of the parking facility, and selected Shade Systems for the critical shading portion of the project.
The Shade Systems canopies are designed to cover 100% of the parking area, including the ticket booth which will be covered with an additional waterproof canopy, for a total of approximately 115,000 square feet of shade coverage.
The shade canopies are expected to be installed and complete by February 2011.
