Solar-Powered Vehicle Sensors to be Tested in Ireland
The solar energy-enabled vehicle sensors devised in North Palmerston for tracking the parking cheats are planned to be implemented in Ireland. North Palmerston will be the initial test site in the world by Frogparking following an agreement with the City Council of Palmerston North. The company has trialled the vehicle sensors in the Main St of the city and decided to integrate them in around 4000 parking lots across Palmerston North.
Michael Dale, sales and marketing manager of Advanced Parking Solutions commented that their company will be proposing to the Ireland council to permit the implementation of this technology in Ireland. The Frogparking system will assist the wardens to execute time restrictions in parking, he added.
By employing the GPS technology, the sensor system will facilitate the parking wardens to understand the lawns that had vehicles which stayed for a long time. Shareena Sandbrook, director of Frogparking commented that the technology is excellent and is gaining global attention.
The company has already aligned with Sharp Electronics to fabricate solar panels that charge the sensing devices. Sandbrook added that the Irish companys concern towards the innovative technology will help in resolving the parking solutions of the city.
Integrated Technology Solutions (ITS), a company that manufactures and services the pay-and-display machines for the metro, has introduced the Irish company to Frogparking. ITS also participated in experimenting the sensing solutions in North Palmerston.
