Standard Parking, SP Plus(R) Municipal Services Announce Contract Awards

Standard Parking Corporation, one of the nation's leading providers of parking management, ground transportation and other ancillary services, and its SP Plus Municipal Services operating division, today announced four new municipal contract awards. The awards, by the City of Lawrence, Mass., the City of Milwaukee, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority of Atlantic City, N.J. and the City of Miami Beach, Fla., expand the Company's operational base of municipal clients.
The City of Lawrence award to the Company's SP Plus Municipal Services operating division entails on-street enforcement, monetary collection and meter repair services for over 1,000 City parking spaces. SP Plus Municipal Services also will install and maintain 115 new multi-space meters. The Company began its operations in Lawrence on December 1st.

Pursuant to the City of Milwaukee contract award, SP Plus Municipal Services began providing its parking facility management services for four downtown public parking garages, containing over 4,300 parking spaces, on December 1st. The facilities serve a variety of public and private venues in Milwaukee's central business district.

Under the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority of Atlantic City contract, the Company will manage the Authority's newly constructed 1,200 space garage in the heart of Atlantic City.  The garage, which will provide parking for tourists, area casinos and retail merchants, utilizes the Company's Click and Park technology that enables customers to conveniently reserve and pay for their parking online, in advance. The Company commenced its management duties December 21st.

The City of Miami Beach on-street parking award involves 500 multi-space and 3,500 single-space parking meters. SP Plus Municipal Services will manage all aspects of the meter operation, including collection of projected annual revenue in excess of $23 million. The Company expects to begin providing its services under the new contract on February 1st.

"We're pleased to be able to serve an increasing base of municipal clients," said Thomas L. Hagerman, Standard Parking's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "Our municipal parking specialists are expert at maximizing the on-street and off-street revenues our clients derive from their parking assets, which is especially important as municipalities search for every budget dollar they can find."
