Tampa Port Authority Channelside Garage Expansion Celebrates Grand Opening
On Wednesday, June 30, 2010 the Tampa Port Authority celebrated the grand opening of the Tampa Port Authority Channelside Garage Expansion.
TimHaahs joined with Kraft Construction Company and HKS Architects to design this essential infrastructure project for the Tampa Port Authority. The project has already won a 2009 Award of Merit from the American Institute
of Architects, Tampa Bay Chapter.
The expansion is a complex design-build project consisting of a four-tier, 720-space horizontal expansion to an existing garage and designed for a one-level vertical expansion in the future. The expansion will serve the growing number of cruise travelers and associated traffic at the port and the Channelside District. The ground level features daytime parking for buses and limousines and nighttime valet parking. The upper tiers will be used for public and valet parking at the Owners discretion.
