The Harman Group Celebrates 25 Years of Service

The Harman Group, consulting structural engineers, announced the celebration of its 25th anniversary.  Kirk Harman, President, co-founded the firm 1984 as Cagley Harman & Associates. Over the past 25 years, THG has evolved from a small local company to a nationally recognized firm well-known for the design of complex building structures.
Recent projects include The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. The past 25 years have been a very successful and exciting journey for The Harman Group, commented Harman. Open communication and close relationships with clients and owners have helped us to understand their current and future needs, respond in a timely manner and deliver high quality professional documents and services.
In the 80s The Harman Group was an early adopter of CAD design. Today the firm has embraced the industrys latest technology, Building Information Modeling (BIM).   Recognizing the importance of sustainable design, several of the firms staff members have attained LEED Accredited Professional status. The most recent THG designed project to attain LEED certification is the 192,000-square foot, four story 1000 Continental Office Building in King of Prussia.
Since the firms inception, striving to stay on the cutting edge of technology has been a top priority.  Each engineer at The Harman Group completes a rigorous training program when hired. The initial training coupled with an emphasis on continuing education for all employees has provided the firm with one of the best-trained staff of structural engineers in the industry.
In the 1980s the firm first instituted its comprehensive and formal Quality Assurance program to maintain high a level of quality in design and documentation.  This approach has resulted in a reputation for accurate and complete documents and minimal construction phase problems, saving construction cost.
Consistent performance, proactive communication , early adoption of cutting edge technologies and attention to detail and economy of design with high quality documents has been our strategy for staying competitive over the past 25 years, says Kirk Harman.  This strategy will continue to be the firms focus for the future.
