AAA Parking Enjoying Success At Auburn University

Five games into a seven-game home football season, AAA Parking is enjoying the successes of the company's first season as parking operator for Auburn University on game days. Meanwhile, hundreds of Auburn University fans have found their new favorite parking spot and in many cases, good reason to continue enjoying alumnus football.

Regarding AAA Parking's success, it doesn't hurt that Auburn is the reigning BCS Champion. The Tigers went undefeated in 2010, including a win over South Carolina for the SEC Championship and then beating Oregon for the BCS title in January. "Of course, it's always nice to work with fans that are happy their team won. We're fortunate that Auburn is coming off the Championship and that they've continued with wins at every home game this season. It certainly makes for happy customers!" said Eric Garrison, AAA Parking's Director of Operations for the Auburn University project.
AAA Parking was selected by Auburn University in August to handle a variety of parking projects during home football game days. The company manages three properties consisting of about 1300 parking spaces and supplies staffing for game day traffic barricades near the stadium. In all, AAA Parking employs 25 persons at Auburn for the 2011 season. Discussions are ongoing regarding additional properties that will be included for the 2012 season.
Like many schools, Auburn was not originally built for hosting 100,000 fans for sporting events, which often provides serious traffic challenges. The implementation of mostly reserved parking is a key element of the game day traffic plan by providing fans a definitive address and direction to a parking space, rather than searching without direction for a place to park. "We hope to announce with Auburn University in early spring next year a variety of reserved parking options available to fans for 2012. We have received overwhelmingly positive response from fans this year about the ability to reserve parking spaces and how much they've enjoyed not having to search for a place to park," Garrison commented.
