Austin-Bergstrom International Airport - Parking rates increase for Valet, Garage, Close-in at airport

Austin, Texas Beginning Sunday, May 13, 2012, maximum daily fees will increase for Valet, Garage, and Close-in Lot A parking at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. ABIA On-Airport Parkings new daily maximum for Valet will be $26, Garage $22, and $11 for Close-In Surface Lot A. Parking rates in Economy lots B-G will remain the same at $7 per day.

The new daily maximum rates remain at or below the maximum rates approved by the Austin City Council. The new rates represent a $2 change in Valet and Garage, and $1 in Close-In. The increases maximize the use of available parking resources and support parking improvements while minimizing financial impact to the airports parking operation.

Passenger traffic continues to increase at Austin-Bergstrom. The airport has had 27 consecutive months of increased passenger traffic dating back to January 2010. An overflow lot has recently been added for passenger use during peak periods. To create more open parking spaces for traveling passengers in the garage and Lot A, a free cell phone lot was opened in November 2011 for drivers picking up arriving passengers.

Austin-Bergstrom is entirely self-sustaining, generating its own revenue to cover its operating costs. When travelers park at ABIA, their money stays at their airport to fund operations and improvements.
