Brentwood Borough Council - Pay for your parking by phone with ‘Phone and Pay’

- Brentwood Borough

Brentwood Borough Council will be launching a new ‘Phone and Pay’ system in selected car parks from Wednesday 13th February.

Customers will now be able to use the new service to pay by phone, SMS (text message) or smartphone app (available to download from the Apple and Android/Google Play store).

Says Councillor Mark Reed: Chairman of Town Centre Management, Community and Localism Panel:

“I’m very pleased we are introducing this system. It will stop that walk to the ticket machine and back, or rooting around for change. It’s a quick, simple and safe way to park.

"And also when people find that they want to stay a bit longer, they can do so very easily without having to return to their car and so our local businesses gain."

‘Phone and Pay’ can be used in the following car-parks: William Hunter Way, Friars Avenue, Hunters Avenue, Town Hall and King George’s Playing Fields.

Once you have paid by ‘Phone and Pay’, all your information, including your vehicle, car-park and parking details, is instantly sent to the handsets of local Enforcement Officers. So you don’t need to buy a ticket or display it on your windscreen if you are using this system.

Users of the service need to register. They can do this online at www.phoneandpay.co.uk or register by phone. Registration is only needed once; all vehicle and contact details are stored for each use of the ‘Phone and Pay’ system.

And all motorists who use “Phone and Pay” to pay for parking will be entered into the monthly draw to win a month’s free parking.’)

There is a small additional charge for using this service.
