Brookfield Office Properties Installs JuiceBar Electric Vehicle Charging Station in Washington, DC

Brookfield Office Properties has announced the installation of the JuiceBar Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station in the parking garage of the Victor Building at 750 9thStreet NW in Washington, DC. This endeavor represents the first JuiceBar installation in the DC Metro Area.
The new EV charging station just installed at the Victor Building is part of our bigger-picture goal to have operating EV charging stations in multiple Brookfield property garages nationwide by the end of 2011, said Dan Kindbergh, Senior Vice President of U.S. Commercial Operations, Brookfield Office Properties. EV charging stations complement the entire Green Parking Program at Brookfield which also includes bike/scooter parking, premium hybrid parking, energy efficient lighting, tire inflation capability and more. Working closely with Green Garage Associates, distributors of JuiceBar, Brookfield is leading the way with environmentally conscious parking.
Widespread adoption of EVs is hampered by what is referred to as range anxiety, as the infrastructure to support the vehicles is still in its infancy. However, Green Garage Associates has realized the parking industry is uniquely positioned to help accelerate the building of the EV charging station network to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles throughout the United States. The JuiceBar model of free EV charging, pledges to charge cars, not people.
The JuiceBars are attractive, low cost, safe, efficient and easy to install, states Mark Martin, President of Green Garage Associates.
