EasyPark launches parking-app for Windows Mobile

EasyPark and Microsoft today unveiled a Windows version of the app that makes it possible to move the parking meter to your pocket. The number of Windows mobiles is steadily increasing in the Nordic market, which makes the new Windows app an important part of the EasyPark deal. Not least because there are many job mobiles using Windows mobile operating system.

During the first quarter of 2013, EasyPark's app for mobile payment for parking grew rapidly. Compared with the same period last year, the number of mobile parking payments increased by 113 per cent. Now comes another important piece in the EasyPark's mobile offering - an app for Windows Mobile.

With EasyParks Windows app, users can register their account in the app and choose to pay by credit card. The service also has a GPS function to find the area code where you are. With a few simple clicks you can start and stop the car parking, so you are always sure to pay exactly for the time you are parked.

- We are delighted to finally be able to offer an app for Windows Phones. It has been very much in demand, especially since many job mobiles use Windows. This will make it easier for many who use the car, and you’ll get rid of coins and slow card dispensers, says Anders Bäck, CEO of EasyPark Sweden.

Windows Phone - a fast-growing mobile platform

Windows mobile operating system has a market share in Europe of 6.5%, according to Kantar Worldpanel. Windows Phone is the fastest growing mobile operating system (52% growth from December to February compared with the same period last year, according to Kantar) and now has a clear third position behind iOS and Android. More and more phones are launched with Windows; the latest models launched are Nokia Lumia 520 and 720.

- EasyParks is a useful app that solves a problem for our users - quickly and conveniently pay for your parking while ensuring that you pay only for the time you are parked. We are pleased to offer this service to our Windows Phone users, says Anna Ström at Microsoft. Windows Phone users are more satisfied than other mobile users according to PCmag's Reader's Choice and good apps like this one make users in the Swedish market even more satisfied.

The app will also be released in Denmark, Norway, Finland, Italy, Austria, Spain, Australia and Germany.
