EFAFLEX Provides High-Speed Entrance for Canberra Office Complex

EFAFLEX Doors at Canberra Office

It’s no coincidence that EFAFLEX, global market leaders in high-speed doors chose to use a cheetah as part of their logo. It symbolises, power, resilience and speed which were three of the criteria for this recent project at a large office complex in Canberra, Australia’s capital territory.

EFAFLEX’s Australian partner DMF International Pty Limited are well known for providing door solutions for industrial and commercial use. Increasingly they are becoming recognised for their bespoke car park and garaging projects where limited head clearance is typically a problem for many door providers; not so EFAFLEX. They have been designing and manufacturing doors for nearly half a century.

Here the client wanted to replace their old sectional overhead garage doors with an alternative that was fast and offered added security to the users.

Whilst the cheetah is the fastest land animal, EFAFLEX mirror this in the field of high-speed doors. Their unique spiral design, which was introduced over 25 years ago, is the fastest vertically opening door in the world with impressive speeds of up to 4 metres per second.

Many of EFAFLEX’s projects are for clients that are looking to future proof their premises, improve the user safety and reduce energy costs. Traditional roller shutter doors and sectional doors can be slow to operate, lack insulation properties, and easily damaged by misuse of forklift trucks.
Car parks in particular are becoming an important sector for EFAFLEX as their doors offer high opening speeds to secure the users and provide additional safety against the risk of unwanted entry from burglars and vandals.

That’s exactly what was this car parking project addressed, with the added consideration of a low headroom to overcome too. No problem for EFAFLEX as they design and engineer each door to fit the application and aperture. Using their PS car parking door system, requires less than 400 mm headroom and opens at faster than 1 metre per second. Additionally, the client requested that the area was ventilated. Whilst EFAFLEX manufacture high-speed doors that fully insulate areas of climate control or to reduce cross contamination in cleanroom or food production areas, here the application required that the area was ventilated. EFAFLEX manufactured the door using punched aluminium to provide strength and ensure any exhaust fumes exited the area.

DMF International focus on research and development of innovative proprietary designs, to ensure they are offering the best solution to meet their customer’s needs. An ideal partner for EFAFLEX.
Activation of any high-speed door is a key consideration. Who is using the door, and how should the door opening be activated? As you’d expect from EFAFLEX they have considered it all. Used often in warehouse and logistics areas, their activation can be via the forklift driver using a remote control. Here the car park owners required activation by number plate recognition to only allow authorised car drivers to access the office complex car park.

Trust the cheetah brand to deliver on every angle. Smart, speedy, safe and secure! No wonder the client was thrilled with the end result.
