ParkIT, Part of the Holiday Extras Group, Receive Innovate UK Grant

ParkIT is working to enhance the customer experience at airport valet parking operations and ensure parking operators are ready for the future demands of air passengers. Now underway, the project will enable airports to welcome their customers back to a 100% contact free process early in the New Year.

Contact Free Valet Parking allows customers to complete an intuitive, operator-branded check-in process from the comfort of their own home (or on mobile). ParkIT provides integrations to the latest data sources to help customers enter the correct details quickly and easily. On arrival, smart technology tracks customers' vehicles and guides them to deposit keys. Using a unique QR code customers gain access to the site and secure key storage. There’s no interaction with staff, no queuing, and customers will be moving quickly to the terminal.

Innovate UK Executive Chair Dr Ian Campbell said:

In these difficult times we have seen the best of British business innovation. The pandemic is not just a health emergency but one that impacts society and the economy.

ParkIT, along with every initiative Innovate UK has supported through this fund, is an important step forward in driving sustainable economic development. Each one is also helping to realise the ambitions of hard-working people.

Joël Phillips, VP of Product at ParkIT said:

ParkIT is focused on delivering passenger-centric experiences and meeting the changing demands of the travel industry. This award allows us to quickly meet the challenges created by the current situation, quickly build passenger confidence in airport and valet providers, and get people back to enjoying travel.

This problem is wider than just our current customers so we are delighted to offer a solution that benefits all valet-service customers. ParkIT’s contact-free valet-parking solution works great with our existing platform but, as an API-first business, we’re able to work with most other solutions too.

We’re looking forward to helping people of the UK and around the world

Paul Gibbons, Parking Services Manager at Doncaster Sheffield Airport added:

All airport valet providers will be looking for support in handling and emerging from this global situation. Doncaster Sheffield Airport is hugely important to the local area and getting our customers safely on holiday. ParkIT’s new Contact Free Valet Parking solution will help us to provide our loyal customers with the confidence they’re looking for to travel again as it perfectly complements the extensive measures we are taking elsewhere to ensure clean, safe travel.”
