Intertraffic Amsterdam Speeding Up the Mobility Transition

An Expanded Smart Mobility Summit Program, Dedicated Startup Hall and New Awards Format

There will be three summit theatres, an open stage for demonstrations and a networking area

Intertraffic Amsterdam is undisputedly considered the leading global trade and knowledge event on smart mobility, infrastructure, traffic management, safety, and parking. The 2020 edition will feature close to 900 exhibitors spread over 13 exhibition halls, supplemented by a free to attend 120-session strong educational component, the Intertraffic Summit & Demonstration Program. Intertraffic Amsterdam will be staged from 21 to 24 April 2020 in RAI Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Intertraffic Amsterdam 2020 is expected to welcome around 35,000 global traffic and mobility professionals from 140 countries. Exhibiting and visiting participants range from technology suppliers, solution vendors, system integrators and service providers to government authorities, trade associations and research institutes. All major stakeholders groups involved in creating and maintaining a livable, sustainable mobile world will be represented.

Smart Mobility Summit Program

Following the 2018 edition, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and Rijkswaterstaat are once again joining forces in 2020 to take part in Intertraffic. They will be hosting the Smart Mobility Summit program, which features a large number of informative sessions on current developments in the field, paying particular attention to the great mobility opportunities offered by digitization and data. The focus is on tackling mobility issues in relation to today's urban problems: increasing urbanization and pressure on available space, safety, climate change, and sustainability. In other words, 'safe, smart and sustainable mobility' as the key theme.

Intertraffic’s free to attend knowledge and best practice program has been significantly expanded. This year’s edition will feature three summit theatres, an open stage for demonstrations, a network area to meet up with speakers and an indoor demonstration area with direct access to the parking deck for driving demos. There will be a variety of formats such as pitches, presentations, workshops, and debates on solutions for the ever-growing accessibility, safety, and climate problems.

The traffic technology and automotive industry are undergoing significant technological transformations with cooperation and data sharing becoming key aspects. The Summit Program will offer participants the necessary tools to facilitate the mobility transition they are in. Attendees can gather information on mobility innovations and the latest product developments, find solutions to mobility challenges, seek business opportunities or potential partners, get expert advice and debate with other stakeholders.

A mix of public and private organizations will sketch a balanced picture of challenges and opportunities, offering learnings to anyone involved in the mobility scene. Pioneers and innovators will share knowledge and discuss the mobility of the future. Authorities will show the progress and lessons learned regarding governance, social, economic and environmental goals and the many mobility challenges they are facing. Technology suppliers, service providers, and solution vendors will present and demonstrate their solutions to the mobility industry and end-users.

Theatre and demo topics will be new parking services, speed enforcement technology, the impact of climate change on the transport infrastructure, C-ITS deployment and how to realize smart roads and digital infrastructure. Further highlighted themes in the Summit are data sharing, using data to fight congestion, creating new traffic insights, and optimizing traffic by cloud technology and roadway analytics. Also, presentations will run on integral mobility solutions and creating mobility ecosystems, examples of Mobility as a Service put into practice, multimodal hubs, environmental oriented traffic management, all with the aim of providing an alternative to the use of the private car and to help to reduce congestion and constraints in transport capacity. Moreover, workshops will be staged on new mobility services and creating livable cities, impact on self-driving vehicles on traffic management, creating the next steps in Cooperative Automated Driving and various new developments in road safety and road construction.

In the Demo Arena, visitors can join pitches and demonstrations on next-generation automatic incident detection, Variable Message Signs, innovative safety barriers and guardrails and environmentally-friendly intersection controls.

The interactive Summit & Demonstration Program is packed with well-known companies and stakeholder organizations from the mobility field such as Siemens, Swarco, FLIR, Huawei, CGI, Redflex, Vitronic, Survision, WPS Parking Systems, Easypark, Flowbird, International Road Federation, ACEA, New Mobility Services Partnership, Polis, ERTICO/MaaS Alliance, TNO and of course the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and Rijkswaterstaat. The Summit also welcomes an array of smart mobility newcomers and disruptors to the market such as Acusensus, Monotch, Graphmasters, eHang, Moovit, and Viscando.

ITSUP Dedicated Startup Hall

As startups are significant contributors to the innovative strength of the traffic technology and smart mobility scene, Intertraffic has dedicated a separate hall to potential disruptors and game-changers. Launched under the label ITSUP, an anticipated 50 carefully selected startups are presenting and pitching their innovative solutions and are keen to connect with investors and corporate partners.
