UHF RFID systems, the 3rd generation ready for start

© KRAI "Kathrein RFID Antenna Interface" is a world first in the field of UHF RFID technologies

In order to meet the increasing demands placed on modern UHF RFID systems, Kathrein RFID now provides a new © KRAI product line.

By integrating the "Kathrein RFID Antenna Interface" between RFID readers and antennas, it is now possible to automatically use and control a variety of new features in a complete RFID system.

This patented Kathrein technology is already being used millions of times in the field of UMTS mobile network technology to dynamically adapt the properties of the radio cells in terms of capacity and size to suit the needs of mobile users.

In modified form, this technology is now available for Kathrein RFID customers.Kathrein RFID

Specialized antenna-integrated phase shifters allow static or dynamic adjustment of the circular polarization as well as the cascading of up to 32 so-called intelligent SmartShelf modules (SMSH) per Kathrein Reader.

Especially in high transponder populations or in highly reflective environments this new system brings about massive improvements in read rate while reducing hardware costs.
