MobileNOW! Cell Phone Parking Merchant Program a Success in Port Jefferson, NY

MobileNOW!’s recently launched Merchant Program is a big hit among downtown restaurant owners and other merchants.

Port Jefferson is an active seaside resort and harbor town on the Long Island Sound. All parking is metered, and this has been a concern for local merchants. Customers will often leave a business early because they are afraid of getting a parking ticket due to an expired meter.

When a customer walks in, Joey Zee asks them for their

parking space number

and enters it in the MobileNOW! app using an iPad, then selects the duration and confirms the start of the parking session. The same can be done using a smartphone. Once a session is about to expire, there is a warning and time can be extended. There is no limit to the number of cars that can be parked simultaneously.

In addition, MobileNOW! issues free cell phone parking vouchers, which are valid for 2 hours of parking. Merchants can distribute these vouchers to customers in order to increase the chances of a return visit.
