NCP partners with trio of “mobile first”

NCP has signed partnerships with a trio of the UK’s largest online and mobile parking consolidators having opened up its off-street pre-booking technology to third-party providers and parking retailers for the first time.

Deals have been struck with Just Park, Park Jockey and Your Parking Space, enabling these popular parking brands to offer their users thousands of NCP spaces at over 100 sites.

The deal follows an extensive technology programme at NCP designed to make the user experience of pre-booking and using spaces as simple and easy as possible across most major city centres.

From 16 October spaces in over 100 NCP-managed and owned car parks in cities including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol that can currently only be booked via NCP.co.uk will now also be available via Just Park, Park Jockey and Your Parking Space. This will be extended to airports in the very near future.

Spaces can be booked up to 12 hours before they are required.

The parking brands involved will now be able to offer thousands of new spaces to their customers through their web and mobile offerings. NCP believes that the combination of offering pre-booking in sites and the new partnerships will increase the number of customers choosing NCP and its clients’ sites over other car parks.

It is the latest in a series of moves being taken by NCP to take its parking offering to customers - diversifying its urban sites reliance on “roll-up” customers. It will also mean that NCP sites are available through the three brands for the first time.

Max Crane-Robinson, Commercial Director at NCP said: “We don’t exist to run car parks, we’re here to make people’s journeys easier. That’s why we’re on a mission to make NCP the most customer-centric of the parking providers in the UK. Part of that vision has to be that we take our spaces to the customer - rather than waiting for them to come to us. It’s also about making every part of their journey, not just the bit in the car park, as simple and easy as possible.

We think that these partnerships are a win for the parking retailers we’ve partnered with because it gives them access to thousands of prime spaces, a win for the consumer because we’re enabling pre-booking on the mobile channels they’re already using and it’s a win for our clients because we are creating a better offer for their customers, so ultimately they’re more likely to come back again”

NCP is planning to give access to its pre-book API integration software to a range of new online partners covering major arenas, hotels, rail ticketing sites, airlines and other travel providers to sell parking as part of other reservations or purchases. This will enable brands to use the technology to offer spaces as part of their own booking process so that customers can secure parking as part of planned trips.
