Nedap exhibits on the Gulf Traffic Dubai from 7- 9 December 2015.

1. How long has your company operated in this region and why?

Nedap was established in the Netherlands in 1929. It has been exchange-listed since 1947 and employs more than 750 people worldwide. Since 2007, Nedap operates through its dedicated Dubai office, that covers the activities for Nedap across the Middle East.

2. What are the main opportunities in the Middle East for your company?

City accessibility in a time of continuous population growth. Security requirements in a world with increasing risks. These are just a few of the issues that Nedap people work on each day. We believe that technology can provide an important contribution to resolve major issues. Our technology creates added value through products that solve relevant problems, but it’s not the technology that is paramount. It is the way that people use it. Therefore, we strive to incorporate the very latest technologies in creative, innovative ways. The result? Relevant, elegant and user-friendly solutions. Nedap is and has been involved in a wide range and variety of projects throughout the Middle East. Users range from governmental institutions, ministries, universities and banks to critical infrastructures and industrial sites.

3. What are the biggest challenges your company faces operating in the Middle East?

In several of aforementioned projects, our long-range identification technology has enabled to optimize, monitor and control traffic flow of vehicles and people. Safe, secure and efficient supported by a full range of innovative products that combine leading edge technology with quality resulting from over 30 years of experience. In a number of other projects, the main edge was on security related challenges where our readers have proven to be the solution. With a choice between five types of readers, depending on the site conditions and expected outcomes, we have managed to set up and adjust the system to suit unique buildings, locations and situational requirements.

4. Do you have any new products or services to showcase at Gulf Traffic this year?

Nedap Transit Ultimate

Recently, Nedap Identification Systems launched the TRANSIT Ultimate, the latest addition to the leading RFID platform for long-range vehicle identification. The TRANSIT Ultimate identifies vehicles and drivers at a distance of up to 10 meters (33 ft.) and a travelling speed of up to 200 km/h (125 mph) by using semi-active (2.45 GHz) RFID technology. TRANSIT Ultimate is purposely built for vehicular access control in high-security applications and under heavy environmental conditions. Except for the improved industrial antenna and housing design, the new TRANSIT Ultimate contains a second communication channel at 433 MHz that enables a wider bandwidth for communication between readers and tags. Tag authentication using AES encryption is incorporated to help prevent cloning of tags and replay-attacks.
