New Version of T2 Flex Parking Management System Offers Hosted PARCS Solution
T2 Systems announces the availability of the newest version of its T2 Flex parking management system, the industry's only solution that manages permits, citations and access and revenue control in one system.
With this new version, T2 can now host the access and revenue control application in addition to permits and enforcement.
When T2 hosts the application, customers benefit from reduced IT spending and maintenance, as well as the knowledge that all system backups and upgrades are handled automatically and in one place - no matter how many facilities you have or where they are located.
T2 customer George Mason University is already using the latest version and is realizing benefits, according to Josh Cantor, Director of Parking and Transportation. "George Mason University made the decision to install access and revenue control for our new 2,650 space parking garage after we found out that T2 would be able to implement a hosted solution where they already hosted other components of T2 Flex for us,"Cantor said. "This system has been great for us, allowing more of our staff who work in T2 Flex to look up individual customer transactions without having to log into another system.
Because T2 Flex is a web-based solution, users have the ability to monitor facility operations from anywhere using a PC with an internet connection. Other off-site monitoring options are often slower and provide only part of the information needed, creating the need for a combination of programs or systems running simultaneously. With T2 Flex, information about all facilities is available from one place, improving efficiency and control and eliminating the need for data entry.
"The ability for a provider to offer hosting services for an access and revenue control application is very unique,"said Blake Laufer, VP of Product Development and Chief Technology Officer for T2 Systems. "For those customers who wish to implement the PARCS functionality or the complete enterprise version of T2 Flex- for permits, citations, and access and revenue control - we now can host their entire solution."
The new Device Communication Software (DCS) within T2 Flex makes it possible for T2 to host the access and revenue control application and enables real-time status of equipment - such as gates, credit card entry and exit stations and pay-on-foot stations - in one place, including alerts.
DCS provides real-time device monitoring using the Microsoft Silverlight web browser plug-in. Microsoft Silverlight supports .NET languages and development tools. For T2 Flex, Silverlight enables DCS to serve real-time lane information directly to a tab within the T2 Flex Monitoring System.
