The significance of bicycles in the 21st century

Bicycle-friendly hotels, bicycle-friendly paths, bicycle-friendly cities, bicycle-friendly PARKING. Never before “bikes” had the significant importance as they are gaining nowadays.

Biking is no longer just simply a sport. It has developed into a lifestyle. The bicycle as a means of transportation is favourable, environment-friendly and is good for our health.

The target set by the ADFC (the Federal German Cyclists’ Club, registered association) is increasing the bicycle traffic rate throughout Germany to an average of 25%.
An increase in the bicycle traffic rate means an increase in the need of bicycle parking spaces: in city centres, railway stations, in industrial parks and business estates.

WÖHR CYCLE is the name of the new technology that will be presented at the BAU 2015. The automatic bicycle parking system is available as tower or shaft version for up to a maximum of 128 bicycle parking places.
All the current bicycle models having a maximum weight of up to 30 kg can be safely parked into the WÖHR CYCLE. On request, e-bikes can also be re-charged during the storage time.

The automatic bicycle parking system is easy to operate, without the need of personnel. The access times with WÖHR CYCLE are only approximately 16 seconds. Safe from vandalism and theft, bicycles are stored behind closed doors.

Function:

The user parks the bicycle in the transfer area. Then the user confirms the parking process at the operating terminal and receives a parking ticket. The bicycle is automatically pulled into the parking tower and the door closes. Once the required parking fee is paid, the bicycle is available for retrieval. Payment at the operating terminal is possible either by Euro Cheque card, credit card, Smartphone app or a prepaid debit card. A number of different operating concepts are possible.
