PARKEON installs the STRADA in Orizaba (Mexico)

In partnership with SIMEX, our distributor in Mexico, PARKEON provided the historic city of Orizaba with Strada parking terminals for the creation of a paid parking program.

Orizaba is one of the most important cities of Veracruz State, with nearly 121,000 inhabitants. It is situated at the foot of the “Pico de Orizaba”, the third highest volcano in North America. Famous for its “Iron Palace”, designed by Eiffel, which was constructed entirely of Belgian steel and houses its own museum.

With a very dynamic economy thanks to its textiles and brewing, the downtown of the city has the most modern system in the State for managing parking and facilitating traffic flow. The Strada parking terminals, robust and extremely reliable in external conditions, have fitted very well into the urban environment of Orizaba. These highly secure parking terminals, with solar energy like power supply and easy use thanks to their ergonomics and user-friendly interface, have convinced the Orizaba authorities that they are the best solution for the city, and an extension is planned before the end of this year.

A few weeks after the installation of the paid parking system, improvements are already evident. Apart from a better traffic flow, parking spaces are now available for shoppers and shopkeepers are seeing their businesses grow.

There are fewer vehicles in the historic Centre which means less pollution, so enhancing the life of residents and the environment. In addition, all revenue generated by paid parking will be used to fund new infrastructure projects in the city.
