Whoosh! – Parkeon’s mobile phone parking service goes live

Parkeon will be demonstrating Whoosh! - its own mobile phone parking payment service - for the first time on Stand P122 at Parkex 2013.  The solution has recently gone live in an off-street scheme for the operator, Horizon Parking Limited, in Glasgow.

A major advantage for operators is that financial and management data generated by Whoosh! can be integrated with all other parking payment channels on their Parkeon Parkfolio centralised management systems.  

“Whoosh! completes our portfolio of payment methods, which also include Chip & PIN, contactless and smart cards, cash and on-line services.  It is available either as an integrated solution or a stand-alone service”, announced Danny Hassett, Parkeon’s Parking Director UK/Ireland.

Increasing range of ANPR-based solutions

Parkeon is extending its ParkREG range of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR)-based solutions to suit the functional, budgetary and commercial criteria of every car park.

ParkREG with StradaPAL combines vehicle detection sensors, ANPR cameras and barriers with Parkeon’s StradaPAL payment terminal.    

Equally suitable for manned or unattended facilities, ParkREG with StradaPAL is a low investment package, which is ideal for mixed use facilities serving different user groups at varying times.

The payment terminal is equipped with an electronic keyboard on which drivers enter their registration plate details when they are ready to leave a car park.  The terminals calculate the parking fees and issue receipts.          

A third variant of ParkREG featuring Parkeon’s Galexio pay station will be joining the range soon.  It features an optional bank note acceptor.

Strada Touch terminal shows enhanced screen

The latest version of Parkeon’s Strada Touch terminal features an upgraded screen that aims to bring near tablet quality graphics and sensitivity for an enhanced user experience on the original ParkREG solution.
