Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to Deploy Parking Sense Technology at All Five Airport Locations

App-Based Intelligent Parking System Creates Seamless Experience for Drivers by Guiding Them to Available Stalls, Allowing Digital Payment and Cutting Vehicle Emissions in Half

- New York/New Jersey

Parking Sense, the fastest growing parking technology company in the world, has been selected by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to deploy its technology at five airport locations including JFK, LaGuardia, Newark Liberty, Stewart, and Teterboro, with LaGuardia being the first installation.

Parking Sense’s app-based intelligent parking system guides drivers to available parking spaces and allows for digital payment, creating seamless parking experiences that reduce related stress for drivers and reduces related vehicle emissions by half.

Our parking solutions have been implemented around the world, and have proven to be an effective, easy to install, and cost-conscious way for our partners to enhance the arrival and departure experience at their locations,” said Jake Bezzant, Parking Sense CEO. “Our partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has the potential to change the parking-related behaviors and traffic patterns at the airports they are affiliated with, while simultaneously reducing vehicle emissions and their overall carbon footprint.

Purposefully designed to reimagine the parking experience for drivers, parking managers, and communities, Parking Sense’s technology reduces the time it takes to find a parking space by 50%. The technology works in three ways:

Parking Guidance – LED lights are installed in every stall, indicating if the space is available, occupied or reserved. Signage at the entrance of the parking facility also shows where the available stalls are.

ParkUp™ Mobile App – Parking Sense’s ParkUp mobile app links with Bluetooth beacons in every stall. An alert opens on the users’ device that indicates all charges and/or time restrictions. The user can accept the charge and have a digital receipt sent to them. The app also provides a map of all spaces available, leads customers back to their vehicle and allows them to add additional charges for longer parking time. For added convenience, users can reserve parking spaces before leaving their house. The app also works to phase out barriers, which ultimately reduces waiting to exit or enter a parking garage, leading the fewer emissions from idling vehicles.

Asset and Data Management – Parking Sense offers real-time and historical accurate data management that continuously tracks all vehicles coming in and out of a parking facility. This allows property management to understand how the garage is operating and creates better insight on how to utilize each space.
