ParkMobile, the leading provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in the US, announced today a new partnership with the City of Portsmouth that will enable residents and visitors to pay for parking from their mobile devices. The ParkMobile app will be available beginning February 15that 800 on- and off-street parking spaces around the city. ParkMobile is free to download and available for both iPhone and Android devices.
There will be new signage posted around the city’s parking meters with information on how to pay for parking using the app. Auser simply enters the zone number posted on the ParkMobile sign, chooses the duration of time, and touches the “start parking” button. ParkMobile sends alerts when the parking session is about to expire so a user can extend time right from the app.
The City of Portsmouth will also offer a resident parking discount program where qualified residents receive $0.50 off the hourly rate. Click here to learn more and apply for the discount program.
ParkMobile is already available in Keene and in major cities across New England like Boston, Amherst, New Haven, Stamford, and Burlington, Vermont. Additionally, ParkMobile already has 78,000 users in the New England area who will be able to use the app when they visit Portsmouth.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to improve the parking experience around the city,” says City Manager John Bohenko. “The ParkMobile app gives people an easy way to pay so they can skip the meter and instead pay with their phone.”
