Q-Park, the European market leading parking operator, is pleased to announce that they have secured a 40 year lease on the 282 space St. John’s Centre car park in Leeds.
This long term property deal replaces the existing short term lease agreement that Q-Park held previously. On conclusion of this agreement there is an immediate refurbishment plan which will take 8 months to complete. The works will result in Q-Park introducing its recognisable house style to the facility including floor coating and decoration. The car park will receive a fully coated deck finish and walls and soffits will be painted.
St John’s Centre is one of five parking facilities operated by Q-Park in Leeds city centre. It is attached to the St. John’s Shopping Centre in the northern part of the city and is well located to serve a mixture of customers; those being shoppers, leisure, and also serves the Leeds Arena which was opened in 2013. The area has gone through a large transformation and this is likely to continue with Leeds City Council preparing further bids for funding for further development.
Adam Bidder, Managing Director at Q-Park, said “Leeds is strategically an important city for Q-Park because of the mobility demands of the city. This is why we are so pleased to be able to commit ourselves to Q-Park St Johns. We’re especially excited about the redevelopment as we continue our quality ethos in our parking facilities.”
Stephen Cahoon, Head of UK Asset Management at Cromwell Property Group, said, “We are delighted to have worked with our valued tenant Q-Park to extend their lease at the St Johns Centre, Leeds. The car park is very well used by the people of Leeds and with improvement works now on site the Q-Park offer at St Johns will only improve further.”
