APAG Aachen counts on a new Scheidt & Bachmann system

The Aachen Car Park Company (APAG) pursues different paths into an almost cashless car park future. Elisen-Galerie is the first of eight car parks, which has been equipped with the new NEDAP transponder technology by Scheidt & Bachmann.
Scheidt-Bachmann A small device behind the windshield registers and stores data such as customer number and time of entry and exit. Then the amount to be paid is debited to the customer's bank account. The technology can be used for season parkers and for short-term parkers. The customer, as in the case of ec-card payment in a shop, only has to sign a direct debit form for the monthly settlement. The parking account balance can be checked at any time in the Internet, protected by a password.
But the system offers another specific feature: the technology is also suitable for customers, who participate in the citywide APAG bonus system. They just insert the parking vouchers from the shops into the ticket slot at the exit. The monetary value will then be credited in the monthly settlement.
apag.jpgCustomers, who prefer the conventional ticket system, can also use the cashless APAG parking system. At the entry, they just take a bar code ticket for identification, which is paid afterwards with the ec-card, coins or banknotes at the automatic pay station. The conversion to barcode tickets has further advantages: Theatre season tickets, value cards, company invoice cards and all other cards spent by the system can be processed without any problem.
Car park customers with an ec-card can use this card as a ticket. If they insert the card into the reader at entry and exit, parking times and debiting data are registered automatically.
Apart from the usual test and processing methods of the season parker system, the new technology offers numerous advantages for administration and supervision. All data of the transponder and the bar code tickets is stored in the central master computer. Operational supervision and control is made from the master computer workstations. If a customer has lost the ticket, a spare ticket at an individual price, which can be paid and issued at the automatic pay station, is offered via remote control within a short time.
All data relevant to invoicing is fed directly into the APAG accounting system. This includes the audit-safe documentation of monetary interferences into the system like the manual opening of barriers or an alarm. With such special occurrences comments must be entered into the system at the master level workstations.
For APAG, the efficient processing of data means lower costs by shorter processing times. Apart from many other advantages their customers enjoy saving of time and higher comfort. Positive side-effect: the higher customer satisfaction.
