City Parking in Schaffhausen / Switzerland: An Update

A little more than a year after Skyline was appointed by Parking Properties (owner of the City Parking, Schaffhausen Switzerland) to renew the control system and user interface, City Parking has been running reliably as planned.

Built in 1958 and converted into a fully automated system by another party in 1997, City Parking‘s software and some of its electronic and electromechanical components were in need of updating. With the renewal complete and the facility working very well, Parking Properties is now moving towards further enhancing City Parking.

The current effort focuses largely on cosmetic improvement and improving user experience.

After a lengthy approval process, the outside of the entry and exit area and the inside of the lobbies received a fresh coat of beautiful blue paint as well as new road striping. Entry and exit lighting was improved and the color adapted accordingly. A s a result, City Parking now displays a blue neon light effect from a distance, while the entry and exit lighting provides the immediate area with bright, warm light.

These latter measures have already had a significantly positive effect in terms of increasing the number of shortterm parkers choosing to use the City Parking facility. Next on the agenda for City Parking is the user guidance display in the entry lobby, as well as replacing the current information display at the exit lobby. The existing screen is relatively small, matt and hard to view. The new screen will be larger and will display dynamic content plus live images.
