Sms&exit launched in Austria

A1 Telekom Austria is expanding its mobile parking service. As part of a pilot project, users of the APCOA car park at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna and the APCOA parking garage at Graz Airport can now pay their parking fees directly from their mobile phone. When entering the car park users will get a ticket as usual. Payment will then be made by sending a text message to a number found on the ticket quoting a unique code which is also printed on the ticket. Seconds later, successful payment will be confirmed by a free text message. The user can then exit the car park. Parking fees are collected automatically either as part of the mobile phone bill or from a pre-paid balance. An expansion of this service to car park sites throughout Austria is now planned.
