Veidekke to build parking facility in Arendal

Two caverns totalling 52,000 m(3) are to be blasted along with accompanying access tunnels for entry and exit from Barbu, as well as a pedestrian tunnel from the caverns to Pollen. The blasting work will take place during daytime between 0600 and 2200.

The Pollen parking facility will be built with two floors in each cavern. The contract is a turnkey contract, and will be carried out as a complete, finished structure including planning and structural and technical installations.

Work will be carried out by Veidekke Entreprenør AS in cooperation with subsidiary Br. Reme AS. Work has already commenced, and the facility is to be completed in November 2012.

An option for a second building stage 2 with expansion for a total of 900 cars may be invoked at a later date.
