WPS at UN Climate Sumit

Even before signing the official agreement to become the exclusive partner for WPS Denmark, Lindpro a/s has been awarded an order for installing a parkID parking management system at the exclusive Crowne Plaza Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The complete system, consisting of entry and exit terminals and automated paystations, will be installed before the opening of the hotel in November 2009.

WPS and Lindpro are very proud to have been awarded the contract to install parkID at the hotel's parking facility, especially since the hotel will offer its accommodation to the world's presidents and ministers during the UN Climate Summit that will take place in Copenhagen next December.

Situated in the newly-built Copenhagen Towers, the Crowne Plaza Hotel is not only the largest hotel in Denmark ever, it is also the first low-energy and CO2 neutral hotel in Denmark. the Copenhagen Towers meet EU requirements for certified "Green Building", as renewable energy sources provide all energy for the hotel.

Copenhagen Towers makes use of groundwater from 100 meters below the surface to reduce the energy consumption for heating and cooling by almost 90%. And by covering all sunny surfaces on the hotel and office buildings with high technology solar panels approximately 170,000 kWh power is generated on a yearly basis.

In order to contribute to the green aspect of the hotel, WPS has integrated the Crowne Plaza hotel room card as identification method. By allowing the guests and employees of the hotel to use the card of their hotel room for acces and payment of the parking facility. This way WPS tries to reduce the amount of paper tickets issued at the entrance of the parking.

Only a couple of weeks after the opening of the 4-star hotel in November 2009, Copenhagen will host the UN Climate Summit, and the Crowne Plaza Hotel will be ready to welcome the world's presidents, ministers and climate experts to its 366 bedrooms, restaurant, bar, lounge and other facilities.

Being awarded this contract and being able to present parkID during the UN Climate Summit is truly a green start for WPS and parkID in Denmark.
