SKIDATA AG

Enter the world of 'access unlimited'

SKIDATA specialises in tailored, business-optimised turnkey solutions for access management at parking facilities, ski resorts, trade fair centres, sports stadiums, leisure parks, and spa and leisure pool facilities.

Company background

Headquartered in St. Leonhard near Salzburg (Austria), SKIDATA AG specialises in the development and marketing of visitor management systems, and access and ticketing solutions.

It all began in 1977 with an idea for a ski ticket stamping system. A revolutionary system in its day, it's now a chapter in SKIDATA's history – a crucial one, as that system was to prepare the path for a series of crucial innovations in access management. Today, SKIDATA provides access management systems for a wide range of fields and industries, including tourism and toll collection, fairs and exhibitions, and cultural and sports events.

Solutions for Urban Communities and Cities

GessnerAllee1.jpg
Situated next to the exclusive shopping district along Bahnhofstrasse in the heart of Zurich, the well-known "Gessnerallee" parking garage provides 620 parking spaces on four levels. According to the operators, Gessnerallee car park enjoys the reputation of being "Europe's friendliest car park": its architecture lets in a lot of natural light, and services include customer oriented features such as space monitoring, security video surveillance, an intercom, and an announcement system. SKIDATA provided an integrated, all-inclusive overall parking management solution.

Brepark, Germany

Bremen Parking Service and Management Ltd. currently operates seven car parks in central Bremen, all of which are networked by way of a central control room. Data from all car parks is administered via a central SQL server running within the SKIDATA™ system environment.
The systems for parking management, CCTV security surveillance and intercom are interlinked to ensure fast, uncomplicated customer assistance.

automatischegarage.jpgFully automated parking garage, APCOA Austria

The parking garage near Schlesingerplatz in Vienna's eighth disctrict is fully automated. As usual, access is granted after taking a parking ticket or using a permit at the entrance. The vehicles are then moved to a free space by a fully automated transport system. Collecting one's car is as easy as swiping the card through a reader. The vehicle is then delivered automatically to the exit gate. Automated parking systems are an ideal solution for well frequented areas with very limited parking space.
PuR.jpgPark & Ride, Holland

The future lies in networked intelligence instead of isolated stand-alone solutions, as the joint project of Q-Park, Dutch Railways (NS), and SKIDATA. 29 Park & Ride’ facilities throughtout Holland have been interconnected by a virtual private network (VPN) and provide convenient services such as cashless payment by means of cash cards or loyalty cards (e.g., the NS year pass). The implemented solution allows operator Q-Park central control of all connected facilities. As an added incentive, Dutch Railways rewards motorists who commute by train from and to the park-and-ride sites: when they purchase a rail ticket, customers also receive a barcoded discount ticket that can be used on the SKIDATA™ parking systems.
