Last week we organized the 5th edition of our annual Airport Parking Network Event. This year’s event was held at the Hilton Copenhagen Airport Hotel in Denmark, with CPH Airport as the host. CPH Airport is the biggest airport in Denmark. With months of preparation, 88 participating airports, 17 different nationalities and 14 companies, APNE 2013 was a great success!
Thursday morning around 9 o’clock people started coming in. After the opening speech held by Parking Network’s Jorrit Weerman and Michella Hesselberg from CPH Airport there was time for networking during the coffee break. We set up several networking tables for suppliers to showcase their products and solutions and to encourage interaction between suppliers and airports. Many people spoke positively about how the networking was arranged.
Airport Parking Managers Discussions
After the networking break, it was time for the airport parking managers discussions with subjects like:
- How to compete with off-airport parking
- What types of incentive programs do you use?
- How to measure customer retention
- What’s your experience with SEO/SEA?
These discussions proved to be very successful and valuable to the airport attendees, and we’re certain to arrange this again next year!
After lunch the first workshops started. We made sure everyone was able to attend all 5 workshops held over 2 days. The workshops gave suppliers the chance to showcase their solutions and get insight in the problems that airport parking managers are facing today. For airports the interactive workshops were a good way to learn more about different solutions, ask questions and also see what other airports are doing.
There were workshops by:
- Inventive IT (Business case for bookable parking, opportunities around bookable parking)
- Nedap AVI (Long-range identification and wireless parking sensor technology)
- ParkCloud (Pre-booking and marketing services)
- Rentalite (Cost-effective and energy-saving LED lighting solutions)
- Skyline Parking (The added value of Automated Parking Systems (APS) for airports)
Other participating companies were:
At the end of the day we planned a nice dinner in an informal atmosphere with great food and drinks included.
Walk & talk airport parking
The next day began early with a tour through the car parks of CPH Airport. The picture below shows the big P10 parking located right next to the airport and across the street from the Hilton Hotel where the event was held. Later that day Mr Jorrit Weerman led an open discussion among the airport parking managers with several topics.
After lunch, networking breaks and more workshop sessions we closed the event with a final opportunity to exchange ideas and business cards while drinks and snacks were served.
We would like to thank everybody who joined us these 2 days and we hope you had a great time.
We’re looking forward to meeting all of you again at next year’s
Airport Parking Network Event!
