DESIGNA lands at Sydney Airport: Valet parking system launched

It is the largest airport in Australia - the Charles Kingsford Smith International Airport - or simply: Sydney Airport. It was named after the Australian aviation pioneer Charles Kingsford Smith who was the first to fly across the Pacific. A fitting backdrop to one of the most exciting projects in recent years.
DESIGNA landed a major coup in Sydney: After the numerous profiling stages, the company overtook the competition in the international tender for the modernisation of the parking management system at Sydney Airport. The result: A 5-year contract with an order volume of four million Euros.

DESIGNA presented a fully integrated valet parking system for Sydney. Among other things the system manages 41 entrances, 31 exits, 18 pay stations and 8 valet PoS terminals for the service tracking. The customers are welcomed in the valet zone with handheld iTouch and can benefit from an integrated single-space monitoring system with 6,000 single space sensors. Prebooking via web interface and the completely virtualised server environment for all the systems complete the extensive high-end features.

The DataMart report database provides the operator with all the required information and data in simple form, quite independently of DESIGNA. The complete test system also supplied provides maximum security even before the installation in the event of changes.

Such heights can only be maintained together with a top-class partner: In this case it was Sabar Technologies. Numerous other sub-contractors are also involved to ensure that the course is state-of-the-art right down to the quality of the details. No wonder that DESIGNA Project Manager Carsten Brüssow is looking forward to completing the whole project by 31 March 2012.
