CCS has been supplying a range of quality credit, collection, investigation and enforcement services for over 25 years, having commenced operations in 1975 when CCS was founded by the now Senior Partner, Alan Longhurst.
CCS has seldom advertised but has enjoyed steady growth, relying largely upon recommendation, so that there are now 189 in-house Partners and employees, over 1,400 field collectors, annual sales around L10 million and offices in Thornton Heath (South London), Bromsgrove (Birmingham) and Glasgow. In the early years, CCS specialised in serving the Mail Order industry but has since added markets like: Banking, Financial Services, Publishing, Insurance, Mobile Communications, ex-Public Utilities, Local Authorities, Cable Television and Retail.
Intially, CCS concentrated upon Debt Collection but, along the way, incorporated two other agencies, providing Tracing, Status Reporting, Financial Profiling and other investigation products. More recently, a successful enforcement division was added which provides: execution of distress warrants, liability orders, arrests, repossessions and process serving. All the while, the company was developing, through computing and other technologies, the ability to process substantial volumes of business. Today, it handles around 1,000,000 debts and 150,000 traces and profiles, plus 200,000 enforcements per annum.
