Civil Enforcement Officers make sure that drivers follow parking regulations on public streets and in car parks.
What you’ll do
Enforce all on-street permitted parking regulations throughout Maidstone Borough, in accordance with the 2004 Traffic Management Act.
Seek to move or issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) using a handheld computer terminal (HHCT), to vehicles found to be in contravention of the regulations.
Attend and seek to rectify reported faults with pay and display equipment in accordance with training.
To record, report and take appropriate action on any defects found in street furniture, including signs and road markings.
To record and report any suspect vehicles, i.e. abandoned vehicles or vehicles with a fraudulent permit displayed.
To represent the company and client by promoting good public relations, providing advice and information concerning parking related matters, whenever asked, in a courteous and professional manner.
To report any criminal activity, e.g pick pocketing, shoplifting, violence etc to the police or CCTV operators.
Your day will be spent, mostly outside, in all weathers, patrolling car parks and other on street restrictions, so please consider this before you apply. You will be dealing with members of the public face to face, so customer service must be something you enjoy, sometimes in difficult situations.
What You'll Bring:
Previous job experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Applicant should command good basic English and maths skills as well as being able to communicate well with the general public.
Good customer service skills are important.

Salary £7,751 per annum
Part Time 17 hours per week.
Shifts cover 07:20 to 22:00.
