As an ECEO Supervisor you will oversee a team of Environmental Enforcement Officers who are responsible for the promotion and enforcement of legislation with regards to dropping litter, dog fouling, fly-tipping, anti-social behaviour, street trading, breaches of local byelaws and other related contraventions as required.
What you’ll do
Monitor and enforce within the London Borough of Lambeth by foot patrol, undertake investigations and pursue enforcement action where appropriate.
To provide support, advice and guidance to the EEO team
Support and monitor EEOs both out on street and via reports
Investigate reports of littering, fly tipping and dog fouling and other similar offences
Respond to councillor and public enquiries and complaints regarding local environmental quality and anti-social behaviour.
Performance manage, plan and evaluate the training and development of staff where required.
Operate within all policies on the employment of staff, including recruitment, conditions of employment, pay and benefits, discipline, grievance, performance management and equalities.
To exercise proper integrity in respect of confidential matters and personal information obtained during the execution of the duties of this post.
To understand and comply with the legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), and any other relevant regulations
To work with both the Waste Management Manager and Environmental Health Manager in developing and carrying out the post.
To build a good working relationship with key service areas, including cleansing and waste collection teams, and the waste management team in undertaking enforcement work.
What you'll bring
At least one year’s experience of working in a supervisory capacity serving clients and showing excellent interpersonal skills within the Environmental Role
Good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
Experience of undertaking enforcement work.
Experience of carrying out awareness raising/promotional work.
Knowledge of environmental services such as cleansing and waste collection is essential.
Ability to communicate effectively to different audiences and work as part of a team.
Reliable, self-motivated and capable of dealing with potentially hostile people/situations.
Ability to develop, implement and follow policies/procedures.
Ability to deal with complaints and resolve complex issues
Full clean driving licence - Essential.
