Operations Manager (Luton and Dunstable, UK)

The Role

We are looking for an Operations Managers for Luton Airport to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service by effectively managing all operational aspects of the contract. This role would involve working as the on–site Operations Manager to ensure all operational requirements and service level agreements are met through all aspects of the contract.

As an Operations Manager you will ensure quality standards and contractual requirements are maintained and ensure the financial performance of the contract achieves and exceeds our shareholder expectations.

What you’ll do:

  • Identify and assist in the development of new business within the contract
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports in line with the client and reporting requirements
  • Be the primary contact for all clients and suppliers in the absence of the Contract Manager and take on any responsibilities of the Contract Manager
  • Direct line management of the Service Delivery Managers & Transport Manager\Supervisor
  • Monitor and report the SLA performance of the service provided by APCOA
  • Agree on a weekly\daily basis, with the Service Delivery Manager strategic action is implemented
  • Ensure that daily briefings are being completed at the start of each shift
  • Manage and support the performance of the staff team
  • Manage the recruitment process on site
  • Sparks’ information to all members of staff and managers and maintain good communications throughout the contract
  • Ensure that all incidents are recorded thoroughly and accurately in the appropriate incident reporting tool, with any action follow up actions also being dutifully recorded
  • Check daily revenue and banking process on site
  • Manage the issue and return of ID passes and liaise with ID unit as and when required
  • Manage site inputting of vehicle registrations onto ANPR
  • Any reasonable duty as requested by a more senior manager

What you’ll bring:

  • Efficient financial and analytical skills
  • Management skills - minimum of 2 years in a people management role
  • Ability to meet challenging and demanding targets
  • Managing and motivating diverse team to deliver an excellent level of service
  • Experience of working with members of the public and unions
  • Experience of the management of complex car parking operation or similar
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Able to prepare reports
  • Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels internally and externally
  • Strong oral and written communicator at all levels
  • A flexible approach and ability to absorb new ideas
  • Able to prioritise and multi-task
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive nature

What we’ll offer:

  • £35,000 - £38,000 per annum
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays
  • Adhoc weekend working and site out of hours visits as requested
  • Will be required to go on the out of hours “on-call rota” with CM
