C# Software Developer - Autovu

Description:

AutoVu software developers at Genetec get to work with a multitude of systems comprised of both software and hardware components. Our license plate recognition (LPR) technology is part of the Security Center Platform but also extends to the AutoVu Sharp LPR camera as embedded software, to the AutoVu Patroller in-vehicle software and even to the Microsoft Azure cloud. Responsibilities:

The current position is a code position specialized in software development using .NET technologies. The candidate will work in an Agile (Kanban) environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing and unit testing object-oriented, fault tolerant software in C# using .NET 4.0+.
  • Elaborating functional and architectural specifications.
  • Working in conjunction with software testers to fix bugs.

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science.

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must be functional in French and English.
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is seen as a team player and is cooperative.
  • Enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks.

Technical Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming in C#.
  • Thorough knowledge of the .NET framework.
  • Knowledge with debugging tools and techniques.
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming.
  • Experience with relational database management systems such as Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.

Assets:

  • Experience programming both UI and back end tiers in a transactional n-tier software architecture.
  • Experience with network IPC frameworks and subsystems like WCF and Windows sockets.
  • Experience with WPF
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Web, Web API, ASP.NET programming
