The Spirit of the Position:

The Financial Systems Administrator reports to the Vice President, Information Technology and works closely with all other departments to create, implement, and will provide support as needed to leverage business growth and structure strategic processing. The position requires some Server Administrator knowledge but has a stronger focus on finance and accounting.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Provides technical, project and system administration support of the financial systems by identifying system requirements, system upgrades and testing procedures; monitoring system performance and works with the IT teams to resolve issue.
  • The position manages users access to company applications and verifies each user has the correct roles and access levels.
  • Monitors applications for uptime and performance from an elevated user standpoint at which point works with the IT Server/Networking administrators to resolve.
  • From an analysis standing needs to understand the data and how its stored and reported against. SQL queries and database connection experience are positive.
  • Understanding how financial entries are performed and when there are issues, can look behind the scenes to investigate and resolve.
  • Understanding in Change management processes and testing changes made to the system.
  • Discover potential new software features, test, document, and train employees.
  • Provide real time technical support for any process, workstation, or server issues.
  • Work closely with the AR/AP and Accounting departments on creating new accounts, updating account access, and providing IT solutions in response to financial problems.
  • Oversee aspects of the ERP Accounting systems (Microsoft Business Central, Altec Doclink) and the Subscription platform. Work closely with the other IT system administrators and accounting teams to monitor any issues.
  • Lead change management strategies across projects and assist with development and execution. Coordinates practice of Change Management, Configuration Management and Release Management/
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing service level agreements.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • BA/BS degree in computer science or a related field required.


  • Accounting and/or financial background is preferred with some basic understanding of Servers and Networking.
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Strong computer skills (ability to operate specific software programs)
  • Troubleshooting and resolution skills.
  • Exceptional customer service communications skills.
