Director, Marketing Communications & Brand Management (Charlotte, US)


About the Role

As the Director of Marketing Communications and Brand Management, you will serve as the steward of the brand working with other commercial leaders across the business. You will sit at the apex of Passport’s digital growth, product marketing, and government relations functions and play a key role in managing the overall company message both internally and externally. This is a highly collaborative position with daily responsibilities that include public relations, social media, events, internal communications and client communications.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Corporate Brand Management & Messaging: Oversee the company’s corporate brand image. Work with marketing team colleagues to develop a consistent brand experience internally and externally. Engage with client-facing teams to ensure the brand messaging is understood by all audience targets.
  • Public Relations & Social Media: Manage the external public relations agency and oversee the development of all PR and social content. Develop a queue of content for ongoing PR and social media presence. Optimize content for maximum engagement.
  • Internal Communications: Partner with People Operations, product marketing, and the PMO on internal communications defining and executing relevant communications initiatives for our employees. Identify the most effective vehicles for internal communications.
  • Client Communications: Serve as the partner to the Client Success team in identifying campaigns that cross-sell and promote our product portfolio within our existing client base to achieve 2.0 + product installs / client.
  • Events: Support the event and government relations managers in identifying core messaging threads that can be pulled into all of our events including conferences, webinars, and speaking engagements.
  • Team Manager: Leader of the team responsible for events, public relations, social media, and design.

About You

You are an excellent communicator and creative thinker. You have a love of content creation and excel at translating a brand architecture into messaging that will resonate with internal and external audiences. You are an incredible coach and developer of teams. You naturally create followership and promote creativity in your team members as well as your peers. You have a strong vision for what’s possible and are not afraid to take risks and ask the tough questions if the narrative does not make sense. You are comfortable working in a fast paced cross functional team environment and know how to establish metrics and hold you and your team accountable for hitting goals.

Willingness to travel up to 20%.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related fields. MBA highly desirable
  • 15 plus years of progressive experience in marketing, marketing communications, brand management roles. 10 plus years managing teams.
  • Excellent written & communications skills. Experience writing sales enablement content (Writing samples required).
  • Experience writing press releases and managing external PR agencies & press inquiries. Knowledge of PR & Social benchmarks and measurement tools.
  • B2B SaaS marketing experience highly preferred
  • Strong collaborative team-oriented approach to management
  • Proven track record fostering cross-functional relationships
  • Experience working with Salesforce and project management software tools such as Jira and Airtable
