Senior Accountant (Charlotte, US)

About the Role

As Senior Accountant, reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will assist with technical accounting, financial reporting and accounting operations. Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical accounting projects, including implementation of new accounting guidance
  • Work with a Big 4 audit firm in conjunction with an annual financial statement audit
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and documentation of financial controls for a rapidly growing company
  • Analyze month-end account variances to understand business patterns and identify areas of risk
  • Prepare or review account reconciliations
  • Participate in acquisition integration
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries related to general corporate accounting and entity consolidation
  • Identify areas where accounting software and other technology services can be used to drive process improvement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required, Master’s degree and CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
  • Three or more audit busy seasons (including one as a Senior Associate) with a public accounting firm required (Big 4 preferred)
  • Experience working with a growth stage, technology company is a plus
  • Solid experience and understanding of Excel required
  • Proficiency with general ledger packages such as Intacct or Netsuite and experience with the collaborative Google suite of products – Sheets, Drive, etc. preferred
